Beth Dawdy is a lifelong resident of Southwest Louisiana. A graduate of Sulphur High School, she earned her degree in Public Relations from Northeast Louisiana University and a Business Marketing and Management degree from McNeese State University.
For 27 years, Beth served as the Wedding and Events Coordinator and Manager for her family’s business, Treasures of Marilyn’s, where she oversaw countless weddings, corporate events, and community celebrations across the region.
Beth has long been an active civic leader and volunteer, serving as a member of the Live Well Group, the Women’s Commission, and the Lake Charles Rotary Club for over 25 years. She founded the Rotary Dr. Seuss Day/Read Across America Project in partnership with the Calcasieu Parish Library, promoting literacy and community engagement among local students.
Throughout her career, Beth has played a vital role in organizing and supporting major events across Louisiana. Since becoming Executive Director of the Lake Charles Symphony, she has expanded the organization’s creative and community footprint—bringing 60 new “Gators on the Geaux” sculptures into the Symphony’s portfolio, hosting and orchestrating performances featuring Sean Ardoin and Amanda Shaw, and presenting Broadway stars direct from New York. Under her leadership, the Symphony has introduced intimate candlelight concerts, formed a dedicated Symphony Quartet, and is currently developing an expanded educational format and student programming initiative to nurture the next generation of musicians and music lovers.
Beth has also forged meaningful partnerships with city arts programs, museums, and statewide initiatives such as Symphony in the Park. She believes these collaborations are essential to the vitality of the arts overall and has made it her mission to ensure that the Symphony continues to thrive in harmony with the many other arts programs that enrich Southwest Louisiana.
