Make your way through the Lake Area, and you’ll encounter nearly 40 custom life-sized fiberglass resin alligators. Gators on the Geaux started over two decades ago as a fundraising effort for the Lake Charles Symphony and the arts community; it has evolved into a public art exhibit representing Southwest Louisiana’s personality as each gator is unique and tells a story. Not only does Gators on the Geaux support the local arts community, but it has also forged a partnership with local businesses.
